SECOND WEEK OF LENT
Jeremiah 17:5-10; Psalm 1:1-4,6; Luke 16:19-31
Happy are they who hope in the Lord
The Prophet Jeremiah and the parable of the rich man remind and challenge us to make sure that the compass of our heart is set on Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life. The rich man isolated himself from God and others. He “died and was buried” in eternal loss. Lazarus died and “was carried by the angels to the bosom of Abraham” in eternal joy. God’s mercy was available to both.
Lord, forgive me my sins. Lock the compass of my heart on to you. Show me how to be a neighbour to those in need.
