Anna in the temple

Today we meet yet another witness to the birth of Jesus - the holy one of God. Anna the prophetess who recognised Jesus as the one who will deliver Jerusalem and the whole world from the oppression of sin. As an old woman she had waited patiently to see that day. At times we have to wait patiently for the Lord to hear our prayers or make himself known to us. But he will, when the time is right.
