Saying ‘yes’

In today’s Gospel we are taken back to the meeting that led to the Christmas event. Mary meets the angel who announces to her that she is to bear the Saviour. For Mary, it must have been a confusing yet faith-filled experience. She questioned the angel as to how this can be, but once she heard the explanation she accepted God’s plan for her. Our faith can lead us to wonder at and question things from time to time. Despite these things, we should be like Mary, and say ‘yes’ to what God wants of us.
