Second Sunday of Advent

Prepare the way

On this, the second Sunday of Advent we meet John the Baptist calling us to prepare a way for the Lord. He says someone is coming who is greater than him and he is not worthy to undo his sandal strap. Yet God, through Jesus, did empty himself to become one of us. He comes to each of us humbly, gently, lovingly. Are we ready to put aside all those other distractions that are part of this time of the year and meet him?
