Clean the house

Today marks the first day of Advent and the new liturgical year. It is preparation time. We will soon welcome again into our world and into the ‘home’ of our lives, our most honoured and beloved guest. We are to ready ourselves through prayer and penance to celebrate at Christmas that God is with us. All other things at this time of the year take second place to this. How will we make our Advent this year? The same as years gone by, or will we make a special choice to do something differently?
