Praying for peace

Sadly, we are rather used to seeing pictures and news items depicting warfare and violence in different parts of our world. We can feel quite useless about giving practical help to bring peace in Syria or Somalia or ... But we can pray earnestly for peace in war-torn countries. We can also be peacemakers in our own communities – among family or friends. Do I pray for those who upset me? Do I mend the cracks in relationships, regardless of how they are caused?
