Spiritual investment
St. Paul urges Christians to make progress in love. Most progress is made by loving those who are closest to me, and to some extent minding my own business. The latter simply means giving priority to sorting out my own love with regard to God. Loving as God loves is a risk as the ‘one talent’ servant found out. It is so much more than putting my natural gifts and talents at the service of the community then resting on my Christian laurels. How do I regard God? Do I second guess him or do I risk all that I know of God then invest my whole life for the sake of building up the body of Christ on earth?
