Esther 4:17 (Esther’s prayer); Psalm 138; Matthew 7:7-12

God-botherers

You will no doubt have heard people with religious beliefs referred to disparagingly as ‘God-botherers.’ Well, quite right, so we are! God likes us to bother him! And we do so because we know how much we depend on God for everything, unlike the non-believers who think they can manage their lives without the ‘crutch’ of religion. People ‘bothered’ Jesus constantly with their needs and he encouraged them to do so, never turning any away. Jesus urges us to ‘bother’ his Father and I certainly intend to continue doing so!
