Love from the heart

What do parents desire most of their children? Love, of course! Why would it be any different with God and his children? ‘Come back to me, with all your heart’ (Joel 2:12). ‘You must love God with all your heart’ (Deuteronomy 6:5). God desires relationship. Yes, we are to obey God’s laws, but they are to be written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33). Whatever our Lenten resolutions, let them be offered to God in love, love from the heart.
