Deaf and dumb

Jesus touched the deaf man’s ear and tongue. He healed his speech impediment and his physical deafness. Our own deafness and silence may not be physical. They may be caused by fear or guilt or shame so that we are deprived of the voice to speak our truth or to listen to what someone needs to say to us. We, too, can come to Jesus knowing he can loosen our tongue to speak or open our hearts to hear. He makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.
