God’s honour

It is good to see athletes and sports stars bless themselves and gesture to the heavens when they enter a contest or score a goal. They are acknowledging that their athletic skills and their successes are a gift from God. When we celebrate our achievements we honour the God who enabled them. When we hide or neglect the talents that God has gifted us with we fail ourselves and miss the opportunity to give honour and glory to God. ‘The works of Yahweh are sublime. His praises will be sung forever.’ Psalm 112 (111).
