Why are we looking?

Why do such large crowds come in search of Jesus? Is it because of what he does or what he says? Why do we search for him in our own lives? What is it we are looking for in him? Are we attracted to his message or are we simply hoping that he can solve our afflictions, whatever they may be? Is our search one of faith or one only of self-interest?
