O Come Wisdom

In this final week of Advent, the readings focus on the promise of the prophets of Israel. The Messiah is to come among us. December 17 brings the first of the O Antiphons. ‘Come, O Wisdom, teach us to walk in the paths of knowledge.’ ‘Come’ is repeated each day, and embodies our longing for the Messiah. In the daily readings we find the O Antiphons in the acclamation before the Gospel.
