Isaiah 2:1-5; Ps 122; Romans 13:11-14; Matthew 24:37-44

A new season

Today marks the beginning of a new season, a call to awareness of what is coming. Isaiah foretells the coming of Christ, Paul and Jesus talk about the second coming. Whichever you prefer, it should be a cause for new hope, a new beginning. It will soon be time to put your old self away and take up your new self, reborn in Christ! May we use this time of advent to prepare, full of anticipation and joy at what is to come.

Lord, help us to prepare for your coming.
