Individual responsibility

Today’s Gospel is a continuation of yesterday’s, where Jesus talks about the Day of Judgment. John’s letter says we need to live a life of love, and it is clear from Jesus’ words that if we don’t live that life of love, we will be destroyed. We can’t depend on anyone else to save us. Our spiritual life is our own responsibility. But we do have help if we ask for it.
