The Temple of God

The Archbasilica of St John Lateran in Rome is a beautiful temple of God, the Pope’s church, with an almost unbroken line of Popes remembered inside. And its dedication in 1735 is celebrated today. But Paul’s point in the second reading is that you are a Temple of God, sacred, living with the Spirit of God. To me that is more awesome than the Lateran Basilica could ever be. Do we know how fortunate we are to be Temples of God? Do we live with the Spirit of God?
