Walking the way of Jesus

Today’s gospel reminds us that our Lord not only preached the way of the servant, he lived it. He demonstrated that we do not become poor by giving. We become poor by not giving. If I live for myself, I am trapped in a prison of one. If I live a life of service, there are no boundaries to my life. When we follow Jesus’ example, we truly come home to who we are meant to be.
