The darkness serves the light

One of the early church fathers described the human condition as being part angel and part animal. With that in mind we can see our own struggle in today’s gospel, the bright spark of God within us, sometimes in conflict with our primal instincts. When we walk with Jesus, the darkness becomes a teacher, pointing to his light. So it was with St Therese of the Child Jesus. She found Jesus in every experience.
