Watchtower

Mary of Magdala belongs to the college of first disciples. Magdala means watchtower. Mary of Magdala, freed from a possession, accepts her vocation to be a watchtower of Christ’s work. Mary is a witness to Christ’s ministry (Lk 8:1-3), his sacrifice (John 19:25), and his resurrection (John 20:11-18). Mary Magdalene is an example of a disciple of whom much is given; much is expected (Lk 12:48). Mary Magdalene, pray that each disciple may watch for the Lord (Mt 24:42).
