Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 8:4-6, 9-12; Ps 119A; Matthew 9:9-13

I come not to call the righteous but sinners

Christ’s ministry as a healer – of minds, bodies and souls – sets an example to us. We are blessed with the gift of faith that enables us to see this – though the catch is, we are charged with the responsibility of being obedient and faithful to God’s word. This particularly includes caring for the poor and needy, showing mercy and above all, loving one another.

Lord, help us to show others the joy of witnessing Christ’s teaching by our healing acts of love and mercy.
