Bearing good fruit

King Josiah of Judah walks in the ways of the Lord. He does much to bring his people back to the Law of God’s covenant. God blesses Josiah for exercising this righteous kingship over the people. Jesus reminds his disciples that only good trees can bear good fruit. King Josiah is an example of a good tree bearing good fruit. If we wish to be blessed in God’s sight, we must be like a good tree permeated through and through with the sap of the Gospel in order to bear fruit, fruit that will last.
