Recognising the signs

In today’s first reading we hear of the death of Stephen. He is killed because he pointed out to the people and their leaders that they had been given the Law and had failed to keep it. And in the Gospel we find the people asking Jesus for yet another sign that might convince them to believe in him. Sometimes we fail to recognise the signs and wonders God has given us in our lives. Am I still asking for some proof that will help me believe when I have already been given all I need?
