Wednesday in Holy Week
Isaiah 50:4-9, Ps 69, Matthew 26:14-25
I stumble like Judas
The prophet makes it clear to me that as a disciple of Jesus Christ I am a person whose feelings and senses are assaulted as Calvary looms. Suffering with Jesus Christ is so much more than having a long-distance, empathetic vision of the events of the great Christian festival. Holy Week calls me to be more holy. My holiness must speak particularly of Christ’s willingness to suffer for the sake of God’s love and truth being established in the world. Judas lies to himself as I sometimes lie to myself about my discipleship.
