Jer 23:5-8 two big historical events defined Israel, captivity in Egypt and deportation to Babylon. From Babylon Jeremiah writes of the great gift Judaism is to the world. They showed the world that all life is good and bad, but things will always get better in the big plan of God.

Mt 1: 18-24 at the apex of human history God sent the Word and what a substantial improvement that turned out to be. I am part of this ongoing story now. It is up to me how I enter it.
