Awareness – Feast of St Francis of Assisi

“From the soil, the Lord God fashioned all the wild beasts and all the birds of heaven. These God brought to the man to see what he would call them.”(Genesis). St Francis of Assisi reminds us that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us.(Laudato Si’#1) This sister cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her. (LS#2). Let us pay attention this week to how we relate to the earth and its creatures. Awareness is the first step towards changing our actions.
