Be ready to meet him

It is so easy to see where the foolish virgins went wrong, with their lack of preparation and lamps that had run out of oil. It’s not always so simple, though, to see our own faults, lack of preparation, and self-indulgence.

Holy Spirit, constant companion, let me see my own faults more clearly so I can make better preparation to meet God face to face. May I never lose sight of Christ’s glorious promise of eternal life, which inspires and ignites my determination to follow his teaching.
