Ecclesiasticus 17:24-29, Ps 32, Mark 10:17-27
To have and to hold
Do we hold in trust the material possessions and wealth that we have inherited or earned? Or do the material goods “own” us? I remember two expressions: First “You can’t take it with you,” and second “You do not see a hearse with a Tow-bar.” Sound and real comment.
As the Lord Jesus says it is difficult “for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.” Lord, help us to use our possessions for God’s purposes, for our family and neighbours; may this be always possible.
Mary, first and perfect disciple, plead for us.
