Giving

Paul quotes a saying of Jesus that if not recorded in the Gospels, it must have been a word-of-mouth phrase passed on: “There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” While we do express our gratitude for, say, birthday gifts; this saying of Jesus should prompt our generosity, our sharing without counting the cost, our detachment from material possessions. Charitable organisations and good causes abound, let us assist and help as much as we can.
