Vine and Branches

A Church Council is held in Jerusalem to examine how the Good News, the Gospel, relates to those not of Israel – the Chosen People of the Covenant. Over the next two days we will hear of the Council of Jerusalem’s deliberations and decision. Jesus is the true vine and we might consider the branches that bear fruit attached to him the people of Israel and the peoples of modern Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine – the initial missionary expansion of our One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
