The breaking of the bread

Today we hear the Emmaus story. It reminds us that even though the disciples heard that Jesus was risen it wasn’t all straightforward to them. Jesus walks with them, explains the scriptures, draws them in. Where do they recognise him? In the breaking of the bread and as they say ‘were not our hearts burning within us’. Our lives are complicated, we can go from confusion to real clarity, and all of that is part of human living. When have you experienced this and have you been able to see God in those times?
