Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9, Ps. 147, Matthew 5:17-19
Living in the new kingdom.
Moses explained the Law is intended to help people live with wisdom, prudence and understanding, enjoying the company and support of God in all areas of life. Jesus speaks as the new Moses bringing that Law to fulfilment for all peoples but doesn’t offer cheap grace. The new kingdom of heaven makes tough demands from the foundation of love, because God loves us first. Mary, the first disciple, shows us the way to live joyfully in God’s kingdom, through the Holy Spirit. Baptism equips us to experience the companionship and mercy of God. Are you living in kingdom joy like Mary?
