Do we long for and embrace those outside our comfort zones?
I once heard a father tell his teenager that the porch light would always be on. Have you ever pleaded with God, found prayer become onerous, church boring, God forgotten, or maybe someone hurts you and you stop caring about church, or God altogether? You become disconnected. Jesus tells us that God eternally longs for us. As parishes we are called to leave the porch light on, longing that the family come home. Our mission is to search for and embrace them. Today we pray for new ways to draw people home to relationship with the God of unfathomable kindness.
