He’s Not Asleep
We have all experienced times of anxiety, fear, pain or distress, when, despite all our prayers and entreaties, Jesus just seems to be “asleep” to our need. From such experiences, however, I have learned a wonderful truth: Jesus is always there. Jesus is there in the pain and the distress; Jesus walks with us in those hard times. If we can just become aware of his presence, experience his love, the pain may still be there, but the fear is gone and we will experience comfort and peace. “I am with you always.” (Matt. 28:20)
