Since, as John tells us in his first letter that perfect love casts out all fear, we can presume that on this occasion, when the Lord predicted his passion, the disciples did not yet love Jesus wholeheartedly. But they did eventually reach that point otherwise they would not have died for him. Let’s look at our own fears. If some of our fears are unhealthy it’s time we took steps to grow in love and through that love eradicate them.
