Thy Will be done …

Jesus tells us that obedience binds us closer to him than a flesh and blood relationship can. He could not have expressed the importance of submitting ourselves to the Father more forcefully. And he backs these words up with his own example. In Gethsemine, where he felt totally cut off from God and man because of the weight of sin that was upon him, he could say, “Not my will, but yours be done.” In the everyday situations in our lives can we say the same?
