Let go and let God

Our Lord emphasises how vital it is for us to relate rightly to all people everywhere by insisting that we let go of whatever we have against them or they have against us. God will forgive us provided that we forgive those who have injured us. In the Sermon on the Mount he tells us to seek to reconcile when we are the offender but he says too, earlier in the chapter our Gospel Reading comes from, that we must also be the first to try to put things right when we are the offended party. Let go of grudges and then God will forgive us.
