Open our ears

Poor Jeremiah. His message from God to the people was falling on deaf ears. They reacted to the dire consequences if they remained on their destructive path, while ignoring his promise to relent if they turned to him. How often do we have selective hearing when God is talking to us? Do we listen when he asks us to change direction? It’s not always easy admitting we’re on the wrong course. Lord help us to open our ears to you and remember your mercy as well as your justice.
