Jesus explains his use of parables. “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them…. Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.” Many had closed their minds to the messages. Is it like a parent explaining to a child the reason why a behaviour is unacceptable? If the child listens then their behaviour may change for the better. Lord - help us to be like a “good child” by opening our hearts and minds to your messages.
