Discerning God’s will

Did the disciple Jesus loved know something about Jesus that Peter did not know? Jesus commands Peter to follow him. As a disciple of course John follows Jesus, yet it seems here that a fine apostolic distinction is being made. I must always live to discern God’s distinct plan for my life. It is inevitable that I will discern wrongly at times. Those closest to me will soon put me right. Listen to them and to God through deeper prayer, thought and reflection on God’s word.
