Lord, help my unbelief

In today’s gospel, Jesus asks the man who has been ill for thirty eight years “Do you really want to be well again?” It seems that being ill has become his way of life. Perhaps he has become comfortable with life as a patient and with the attention he gets. Perhaps he has lost the belief that he can be cured and even the desire to be cured. “I have no one to help me” is his reply to Jesus. Are you able to reach out to Jesus in the belief that he can heal you?
