The Parish of St John the Evangelist in Otara, South Auckland, has recently completed a major renovation. The Studio of John the Baptist was commissioned to produce many works including a large multi-layered Crucifixion icon scene, a new stone ambo with bronze bas-relief detail and walk-in baptismal font with mosaic detailing.

Sanctuary furniture custom designed at the Studio and produced by a master-craftsman included the president’s chair, credence table, altar server pews, and holy oils’ cabinet. Other Studio works included the restoration of statues and reframing the stations of the cross. Well worth a visit. The church’s address is 14 Otara Road, Otara.
