Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

A light shining

The prophet Isaiah forewarned that the Christ would be born in Galilee [Is 8:23-9:3]. After the Resurrection of Jesus it became apparent that God had saved the whole world, not just the Chosen People [1 Cor 1:10-13,17]. Jesus of Nazareth preached in Galilee the good news that the Kingdom of God had come on earth [Mt 4:12-23]. The kingdom is as powerful now as when first announced.
For the rest of my life God will light up the darkness ahead of me. It is for me to say ‘yes’ in my heart to being a disciple motivated by gratitude for being shown such great love.
