Obedience

Obedience to authority. How difficult we can find it, as much in our religious beliefs and practice as in civil society. We will obey Jesus, of course, and we know he passed his teaching authority on to the Church. But for many it is not always easy to either accept, or to apply in practice, all Church teaching. Surely God understands our dilemma and our confusion, and expects only that we always follow our conscience, but a conscience which is always informed, humble, and motivated by love.
