Wisdom 13:1-9, Ps 19, Luke 17:26-37

From the created to the Creator

All knowledge passes through the senses: the external senses and the internal senses. The first things we discover in life are of the created order: people, places, things. The engagement of our senses with these creatures is designed to lead us to know and love their Creator. It is folly to remain at the level of the senses, to refuse to accept any reality that cannot be measured by the mind. It is wisdom to accept, and welcome in Faith, the One who created all that is, and has given it to us. Let us know, love and serve our Creator then, and use all created gifts, not to entrap ourselves, but to lead us more deeply into God’s Presence.
