Solemnity of All Saints

Rev 7:2-4, 9-14, Ps 24, 1 Jn 3:1-3, Matt 5:1-12

The Saints are a huge number, impossible to count. The People of God from 12 Tribes in the First Testament multiplied by the People of God founded on the 12 Apostles: symbolically represented in the 144,000. These are the People of Faith, Hope, and Love, of all ages - past, present, and yet to come - who have lived out the Will of God in their lives. In living His Will they have become like Jesus: depending on the Father, gentle, mourning, hungering and thirsting for what is right, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, long-suffering. Now they rejoice and are glad with their reward in heaven.

Lord, may we live Your Life, and become the saints you want us to be.
