Seventeenth Week Ordinary Time

Genesis 18: 20-32, Ps. 138, Colossians 2: 12-14, Luke 11: 1-13

Always converting

Baptism is the first step on the conversion road of discipleship. It brings me into the resurrected life of Jesus Christ and gives me the freedom to choose not to sin. Learning to use this freedom well takes a lifetime. Reflecting on the life of Jesus, learning from the Word of God how and why Jesus chooses not to sin keeps my baptismal promises alive. I must never think of myself as amongst ‘the converted’ but on the spiritual road always converting.
