Genesis 32: 23-33, Ps. 17, Matthew 9: 32-38

Shepherding the locals

The setting for this reading is the locale of towns and villages. The locals though, sense they are witnessing something much larger about the mission of Jesus—something which seems beyond them. This insight dejects them. Jesus addresses this. The message is the same for me today in a world which is yet to know,(or knows and rejects), the mission of Jesus. Crowds need visible leadership, inspiration. Pray for our priests to shepherd their locals well.
