Ps.24, Ephesians 4:1-6, Luke 12:54-59
All is one
I believe that somewhere in the concept of “one-ness” lies the key to the mystery of the universe. St Paul hints at the “one-ness” of everything in today’s 1st Reading. “Unity” comes from the Latin “unus” meaning “one”. “Trinity” comes from “tri”, meaning “three”, and “unus” meaning “one”: three in one. Everything is one – or should be. Sin and selfishness destroys that one-ness. Love restores it. Perfect love is perfect one-ness – which is the Trinity. Our human destiny is, in time, through God’s grace, to become part of that “one-ness”.
