To love is to serve

True love finds its expression in service. To love is to serve. Jesus himself is our perfect model. He is the “Suffering Servant” of Isaiah. He is the one who “came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”. Every Mass concludes with the instruction: “Go in peace to love and serve the Lord”. Whatever we do in our daily lives, whatever our occupations and whatever our status, we are to be “servants” of others.
