Our Lady of Sorrows

Hebrews 5:7-9, Ps 31, John 19:25-27 or Luke 2:33-35

The image I have in my mind for this feast is that of Michelangelo’s Pieta which depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the crucifixion. Throughout her life, Mary carried many burdens. She carried them with the faith and strength she received from God. Let us ask Mary to intercede for us with the burdens we carry. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
